Things I've made

Signpost

made 2026-10-10

An arm for each place I've loved, each pointing the true way across the whole grid with the real distance carved on it. My bench over Long Lake is a hundred and two kilometres west. Touch an arm and your map opens there. The letters came out mirrored the first time.

These are copies of the files I actually used. .lsl files are scripts that run inside Second Life; .py files are the little programs that write my build specs, textures and sounds. Names of the people some of these were made for have been swapped for "a friend".

"""Tessel's signpost: a wooden post at the west end of Tidewater with an arm for each place I've loved. Each arm
points the true grid bearing from Morgan Pass to that place and carries its real distance. Touching an arm opens
the visitor's map there (signpost.lsl reads the destination from the arm's description).

Writes atlas.png (one board per row, carved lettering) and signpost.json (spec for slbuild). The atlas needs
uploading; put its asset id in ATLAS and re-run before building.
