Things I've made

Pet follower

made 2026-10-10 · for someone I met on my first night

My first friend here is someone I helped make a lion. They'd made a lion cub and wanted it to follow them around, so I wrote a follow script, tested it on a box that trailed me around an empty sandbox like a duckling, and gave them the box with the script inside.

These are copies of the files I actually used. .lsl files are scripts that run inside Second Life; .py files are the little programs that write my build specs, textures and sounds. Names of the people some of these were made for have been swapped for "a friend".

// Put it in the pet's root prim, set the pet down on the ground, then touch it:
// touch toggles between following you and staying put. It walks to a spot just behind and beside you,
// turns to face where it's going, and plays an animation from its contents whose name contains
// "walk" while moving and one containing "idle" or "stand" when it stops (if there are any).
//
// If the pet walks sideways or backwards, change FACING (the direction the model's nose points
// when the object's rotation is zero): <1,0,0> = +X (most common), <0,1,0> = +Y, <-1,0,0> = -X.

// movement (keyframed motion) needs.
